ho gaya...

(After the fest- at main gate)

69 days more and I’ll leave the kgp, the place where I studied, had fun, got bored, had blast, got frustt, made friends, made enemies, in short the place where I learned to live life. I still remember clearly my first journey to kgp by neelanchal express which landed to the place 5 minutes before time (and after that in last four years it was never on time). And now on this 7th day of March in my final year I am writing this blog in the ITC transit flat in kolkata. Writing this blog gives me great sense of satisfaction and happiness as 4th year at kgp was undoubtedly the best year of my stay at kgp.

(Some proud moments)

(this paragraph was added after writing the blog when i was giving the tilte to it and none cud have been more appropriate) First leme explain the bog title. It seems quite obvious but there is a small history attached. Prof. BS Das, coordinator of our fest used to tell us different jobs, problem areas, etc etc during the fest and me and malapni used to have only one answer "ho jayega sir", that too we didnt notice that we were using that phrase too often, this made prof das reaaly frustt. But somehow we kept our words and fest ho gaya. Just after the fest was over prof das came to me and malpani and said"ho gaya" and started laughing. First we didnt understand (because our mind was not in a situation to), but then he told the whole "ho jayega sir" thing. And that truly was a moment.

Ankur’06 the techno management fest of agricultural and food engineering department is over. Today I am happily writing this blog because the show was a grand success. 3 days of exciting events, happy looking faces of outside participants, guests, sponsors and of course the core-team were telling the story of success. Each one of the participant were coming to the core team and taking their email ids, photos with them, this all was unbelievable. Guests were asking us why haven’t we called them for whole three day, Prof. H.N. Mishra cancelled the class on Monday morning, each and every profs were coming to us congratulating to us for the show. I never expected this overwhelming response. Even this was not enough, after all this one more thing happened. During the fest I got very little time to see the entries of the participants as I was busy with the organization of the event. But on the 5th eve, when the fest was over and participants were receiving their TA and security money etc., I got a chance to take a glance at the entries of the iVillage which were uploaded on my laptop. That was one of the most satisfying moment of my life. Though I was happy with the overall show ‘WE’ put up, panel discussion, closing ceremony and prize distribution went very well and all were happy, yet the quality of entries which I saw at that point of time made me really happy. There only I got to know that the winning team actually spent 1 week in a village to design the solution. I needn’t say anything further.

(Happy Faces)

By the medium of this blog I would like to thank to ankur team members. I start with Amrita who took the fest as a challenge and showed that ‘nothing is impossible’, this crazy girl with an innocent laugh reminds me of my sister Deepti. Both of them act either like 10-15 year younger sister or 10-15 year elder one, great sense of contrast in the behavior yet so caring in each form. Thanks amrita (and Deepti also) for being there for me.

(Amrita)

Second in the list would be Kaushik Malpani. This charismatic individual who is a great motivator was always there for me when I needed him ( though many people have no idea of this and many people have doubts) but Kaushik is one of the very few people who know exactly where and how to contribute. Friends like him are the life jacket of yours, you can jump in any ocean and they will be there to save you. A friend in need is a friend in deed. Apart from all this, the complementary nature and expertise of Kaushik’s and mine makes a winning combination. I needn’t elaborate much, he knows exactly what I have to say. But still my one request is not entertained as yet by Mr. Malpani and I think I need to take some serious actions. Anyway that’s a long discussion, Thanks Kaushik, I know you will always be there.

(Two men army)

Third in the list are BT and VT who constructed the show. Great amount of hard work and beautiful execution, we had some minor frictions during the fest but deep down in my heart I was always a fan of these two, and at one point of the time in the first week of January these two were the one of the ‘very few’ reasons who kept my motivation. Thanks BT and VT.

(BT-Bharat Tumuluru)

Fourth in the list is the team of Profs, Prof BS Das, Prof R Singh, Prof. PBS Bhadauria, Prof NS Raghuwanshi and Mr. RK Jha These people were the savior of ankur at all fronts. All of us became huge ‘FAN’ of them. Thanks to all of them, none can match the amount of support we got from their side.

(Prof BS Das)

(Mr.RK Jha n Prof R Singh)

Next in the list would be Bhawani. Ankur helped me realizing the girl power. They are one of your crazy, weird, funny friend of yours (don’t mind, waise this is for amrita and deepti also) who will always make you feel good, but when time comes, when you require them, they somehow (and I really have no idea how) become most sincere, caring, responsible and wise person around you. There were times during the fest when there were no words left with me for bhawani and amrita to show my feelings. They were simply great. Bhawani, you truly are a great friend. Thanks for being there.

(Bhawani)

(Girl power)

Imsy and Nawab were there to rescue us. Final days...loads of jobs and they were there. everything was finished very smoothly.

(Imsy)

(Nawab on moped)

Then comes the team magnet (right now only this word came to my mind), one member is ulti-cool, always laughing and the other always with great tempo, aggression, anger and turbulence. Yes I am talking of Rajat and Saurav. Both of them accomplished ‘infinite’ amount of work together and I didn’t have to guide them once. Great people to have in the team and I wish them to be great leaders in coming years. Thanks to you two.

(Saurabh n Rajat)

Other third years Satish, Ashish, Shyam, Shailendra were none less than Rajat and Saurav. Great team work were exhibited by whole of the 3rd year batch. They truly were the ‘core team’ of the ankur. Thanks to all of you guys, have a great future.

(Ashish)

Abhishek da, Chinu da, Saurabh, Raju, bipin. Team of these people pulled a lot of things. Though the support from other MTechs was not much but these for continuously kept working. Whether it was arena design, dept stall or any other work, it was done with the perfection. They truly were the think tank of the team. Without them it wasn’t possible to put up a show of this magnitutde. Thank you friends.

Though our second year batch woke up a bit late for the fest, yet they were there when we needed them most. It’s rightly said ‘Jab jago tabhi sabera’. All of them were there with bright smiles on their faces, these were the people who worked all day hard and pumped the energy in the late night sessions during the fest. Before closing this one I have to do the special mention of mr. devanshu agarwal, and I think whole ankur family knows why. Thanks to all of you, great job. (Yaar next year se thoda jaldi jaagna).

Now comes the team which was outstanding. All decoration and flags you saw in the institute was the result of raw tempo and high dedication of first years. These volunteer worked whole nights to make things look better. Whether it was ‘ankur logo’ or the beautifully written ‘control tent’, credit goes to the first years. It won’t be wrong if I call them the face of the fest. Great job guys, I am sure that the future of the fest is secure.

I also thank Vikrant for working with me during the preparations. I missed you my friend during the fest. But your help and dedication towards the fest was unparallel.

I would like to thank Varun Kishore who designed our logo, which was the face of ur fest, Anurag, 5th yr RK for a well conducted the quiz, ETMS for putting up a great show at inaugural eve, Varsha for the prayer song and all others who contributed for the fest. I am thankful to my friends at kgp, outside kgp and all who supported me in all my difficult times. I thank our sponsors, distinguished guests, participants from all over India, and every one else who helped us and supported us. I include Malpani’s vote of thanks (most complete vote of thanks I have ever heard, after including this I am sure none is left)

At last I get a chance to thanks two people who have inspired me most in my life, first my father Dr. N.N.Mehrotra, I am what I am because of him and only him. Without him I cant be even 1% of what I am today. People like him are born to motivate others and they are behind thousands and thousands of success stories (out of them one is mine). I learnt everything from him, my life is dedicated to my father. The second person is Dr. Srinivas, my guide at ITC, a true man, a great man. His touch can turn anything to gold. This man helped me building my personality and sharpening my skills. I simply cant repay the debt of these two people. Thanks for being there in my life.

And ankur was germinated....

I was thinking a lot these days and finally I decided to write something...

"""KGP is driving me crazy these days....not getting the feel of life...getting bored...same dumb lectures where ur physical existence is for the atendence or else u'll have to face nice!! results....then i decided to stop attending the lectures and the beard u can see in the pic was to make me look sick....but it didnt help...i started looking like some BHAI from UP.....things are moving but life isnt...thats why i have to try harder and harder"""

Actually these feeling were there deep dowm in my heart but spark turned to fire during my summer training...and the motivater was a great person named Dr.P.Srinivas...my project guide..he was like the sun...source of all form of energy...things started moving...lazy person who is there inside me and usually dominates was no where near me...even I was surprized for the strange behaviour...but it paid off and paid off very well...i did some gud amount of work during two months and that was the period where thoughts started germinating...ankur was born...it was the result with deep discussions with maalu and sudu...idea was to create demand for ourselves..the amount of knowledge we people had was definetely gud enuff to give competition to anyone and i mean that....

After coming back to the kgp things started materializing...we had meetings with our 3rd yrs of the dept....ppl were really excited and that was it...the moment...i took it personally...ankur is at the top most priority...iitkgp is going to encounter a grand event next year in march...i promise...

But the greatest problem is habit of slogging...I have become all together different person during our stay in kgp....the habit of sleeping during the semester and slogging in the end semesters is killing me...it seems that working continuously is difficult...but that is what required. This blog is going to remind myself that i can do it...those sleepy phase which kgp offers, i have to learn to defeat them...but end of the day, after writing this i realize that i am again feeling gud...reason is the brochure is ready and it has come out better than what i have expected...

I think i'll sleep well tonight.
